Trouble generating SSL certificate

I am trying to use the web panel to generate a SSL cert for my website. I have done it before for 2 different sites without problem. But now I get this error message

The A record for the domain is missing

I have checked the DNS settings for the website and everything s seems to be in order... It does have an A record.
What am I missing here?

Maybe you didn't wait for dns propagation. What domain are you referring to?

My registrar will not let me do that easily. Seems the problem is on me, and my poor choice of registrar.

I went round and round with this as well. I finally got a free certificate from GoGetSSL to go through for me.
If you do the cname verification the values go in the opposite direction that you'd think.

If you're seeing the "A record for the domain is missing" error while generating an SSL certificate, even though the DNS settings seem correct, it could be due to DNS propagation delay (which can take up to 24 hours). Use tools like Google Admin Toolbox or MXToolBox to check if your domain resolves correctly. If you're using Cloudflare, disable the proxy (set it to "DNS only") during SSL validation. Also, check for IPv6 (AAAA) conflicts if your server doesn’t support it. If DNS validation keeps failing, try using HTTP-based validation if your panel allows it.
